Maya Chen
Wellness Writer
Hi, I’m Maya. I write about mental health, self-care, and personal growth here at Not One Type.
A few years ago, I was dealing with burnout and anxiety that made me realize I needed to change how I was living. That experience led me to study wellness more seriously—I have a degree in Psychology and I’m a certified wellness coach. But honestly, the best lessons came from my own struggles and the conversations I’ve had with others going through similar things.

I believe wellness looks different for everyone. There’s no perfect routine or one right way to take care of yourself. What works for me might not work for you, and that’s okay. My goal is to share what I’ve learned and what’s helped me, in case it resonates with you too.
What you’ll find here
I write about mental health, building habits that stick, navigating relationships, and the ongoing work of personal growth. I try to keep things practical and honest—no quick fixes or unrealistic advice.
A bit about me
I start most mornings with coffee and journaling. I love long walks (usually with my dog Luna), reading, and trying to stay present instead of constantly planning ahead. I’m still learning and growing, just like everyone else.
You can also follow me on social media for more wellness tips, personal insights, and everyday moments—find me on Instagram, Pinterest, and X/Twitter.
Thanks for being here. I’m glad you found this space.
